"Up Close" host Stephanie Aldrich interviews Trisha Gene Brady and Cruz Contreras of popular Americana band The Black Lillies at the historic Tennessee Theatre. This episode originally aired on East Tennessee PBS on Sunday, January 5.
For The Black Lillies, success has meant playing more than 200 performances in one year, receiving multiple invites to play at the Grand Old Opry, and making videos for Country Music television. Founding member Cruz Contreras and vocalist Trisha Gene Brady sit down at Knoxville's Tennessee Theatre to tell us the stories behind some of the songs on their third album, "Runaway Freeway Blues."
